Do I need the 32-bit or 64-bit version?

To find out if your computer is running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, do the following:

  1. Click Start button in the bottom left corner of you screen.
  2. Click on Control Panel.
    • On Windows XP, click System.
    • On Windows Vista, click System and Maintenance, then click System.
    • On Windows 7, use the search box in the top right to find "System". Click System within the results.
  3. On the System display you should see a reference to either 32-bit or 64-bit.
